About the event

The Opioid/America’s Addiction Crisis has contributed to increased rates of child abuse and neglect across the U.S. In response, the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) has made the healing of child victims of abuse and neglect a priority by funding 76 programs across the country to provide effective victim services to these children, and their families/caregivers.

To continue raising awareness of the unique population of child victims of America’s addiction crisis, and to shine light on the realities of healing children who have experienced abuse and neglect, this webinar will feature brief presentations from six (6) OVC grantees serving Tribal communities who are using innovative strategies that integrate traditional and cultural practices in child victim’s services.

This webinar will present effective, culturally-based interventions and strategies for building resilience, strength, and hope through Indigenous cultural programming to transform Native children from victims to young people who thrive. Additional details will be forthcoming. Please use the registration link below to register and save the date for this event in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
